Mission and Objectives of the Kappa League
Guide Right is the national community service and mentoring program of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. For many years, the Fraternity has supported activities to develop youth in America . In Arizona , Guide Right is a major community service activity of the Phoenix Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi. Under the guidance of Dr. W. Morris Mobley (right), the Phoenix Guide Right Program has been recognized nationally by being named Guide Right Chapter of the Year at the national convention of the Fraternity in July 2003.
The young men who participate in the Phoenix Alumni Chapter Guide Right Program are known as Kappa Leaguers. Members of the Kappa League participate in a wide variety of programs to build teamwork, help improve their academic readiness for college and to develop a love of providing service to the community.
Activities carried out by the Kappa League include:
Training exercises to help complete college applications
College Scholarships to graduating High School Seniors
Community Service - Needy Children Shopping Spree
Science on Wheels at Brooks Academy Elementary School
National Society of Black Engineers Pre-College Initiative Program
SAT /PSAT Preparation with the Phoenix Urban League
Career Day at the Air Force Research Laboratory
Career Day at Intel Corporation
Participation in the Arizona Black Expo
Kappa League Showcase
Campus visit to Arizona State University
Community Clean-Up
Time Management and Decision Making Workshop
